Hospital Foundation and Saint John LNG celebrate GivingTuesday, the world's largest generosity movement.

Saint John, NB – On November 29, the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation (Foundation) hopes to inspire generosity this GivingTuesday to help support cancer patients throughout the year.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. The idea caught on and has grown around the world, inspiring hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Thanks to incredible partners like Saint John LNG, the Foundation will be kicking off its third annual GivingTuesday campaign with a $20,000 match donation, supporting cancer care priorities and enhancing care for cancer patients.
"Corporate partnerships are vital to building community and helping achieve our mission," says Jamie Gallagher, President and CEO of the Foundation. "I'm so inspired when we can collaborate with organizations like Saint John LNG, who are committed to making a difference by supporting important causes. Their gift will help inspire the community to join the global movement dedicated to giving back."
"GivingTuesday inspires people all around the world to be a part of something bigger. We’re proud to participate on November 29 and are committed to helping drive positive change in our community throughout the year,” says Courtney Jones, General Manager of Saint John LNG.
For Jones, there is a personal connection with her mother currently battling cancer. "Cancer has touched my family numerous times, and it's a tough disease to watch someone suffer from," says Jones. "Supporting the GivingTuesday campaign is important because until we can find a cure for this terrible disease, we need funding going to technology, to care for cancer patients in our community and funding to support the loved ones of those who are watching their favourite aunt, uncle, mother, father fight cancer."
The Foundation hopes to raise $40,000 this GivingTuesday, with gifts directed to cancer care priorities. Donations can be made by visiting thegive.ca/givingtuesday.
